The GLX P1 grinds and polishes glass edges quickly, fully automatically and with CNC control. The machine processes rectangles and shapes with thicknesses of 3 to 12 mm and up to a format of 3210 x 2000 mm.
The advantages of the solid GLX are its simple operation and straightforward maintenance. Furthermore, the machine can be installed as a stand-alone unit or in combination with a combiFIN processing line.
The GLX consists of a single-part, continuous X-axis with very solid guide rails for the movable suction cup slides. The Y-tower with the grinding head and additional devices is directly integrated, although detachable as required. The control cabinet is also integrated directly and is readily accessible in the housing. The front cladding serves as a safety enclosure and sound insulation, and the control unit is directly integrated. An automatic tool change system is optionally available; this is also installed in the front enclosure.
The GLX can be delivered completely pre-assembled in one piece or separated into axis systems, depending on the transport and assembly conditions.
The GLX is highly flexible and offers a range of options for data input (directly on the device, in the office, via an interface, by means of self-measurement). Once the glass sheet has been positioned, it is picked up by the suction cup system and measured again. The sheet is edged, ground or polished, depending on the specification. A particular highlight is the automatic tracking of the grinding head in the Z-axis. Almost all glass lites sheets with at least one straight edge for transport on the rollers can be processed. As soon as one sheet arrives at the outlet, the suction beam can collect the next sheet at the inlet and suck it in, regardless of the shape and thickness of the glass.
The GLX series is ideal for every modern glass processor. The almost unmanned, fully automatic and dimensionally accurate processing precisely satisfies the requirements of glass processing. The focus on simple operation and maintenance, as well as the straightforward changing of shapes and glass thicknesses, make the GLX highly economical, especially for smaller batch sizes and changing formats.
The GLX combines high-quality individual components that have been tried and tested over many years to create a highly economical machine. Standard preparation of the machine to facilitate the combination option as a combiFIN processing line provides investment security, even if only a stand-alone machine is initially installed.
The machine is characterised by perfect grinding and polishing quality and extremely rapid cycle times. The compact design and fully integrated operating elements enable installation even in confined spaces.
