The new topDRILL RX of the G8 series is a further development of the well-known RX smart-5.
The machine with the new eight-fold turret is perfectly suited for rapid drilling and countersinking of flat glass – and can also produce surface and edge cut-outs extremely economically with the optional waterjet head.
As with all G8 systems, the RX can be used as a stand-alone unit or as part of the combiFIN line.
The RX machine uses the extremely massive base frame of the G8 series. This facilitates the combination of different heights, drilling heads and construction lengths.
The front and rear Y-bars for moving the drilling heads sit on the base frame. The safety cladding and the control cabinet are fully integrated into the base frame. The system can either be supplied with a belt drive on the Y-axis or, in the case of high-performance use and multi-shift operation, with recirculating ball screws, separate servo drives and integrated central lubrication.
If the RX system is installed as a stand-alone machine, the system can be mounted directly on a back wall to save a great deal of space. Maintenance access is from the side in each case.
The base frame can be extended on the right and left with extension modules (depending on the desired maximum glass length). The RX machine can be expanded into a processing line with the GLX grinding machine. The topCLEAR washing machines may also be integrated into the system. The topDRILL RX machines are available in the running direction of your choice.
RX drilling machines are vertical machines for drilling and countersinking flat glass on both sides, optionally with equipment for waterjet cutting.
The RX is very flexible and can be used for various data input options (directly on the machine, in the office, via an interface). The glass sheet is placed at any position on the inlet side. The operator starts the desired program and the sheet moves to the drilling heads. Inside the safety enclosure, the starting edge of the sheet is measured (rectangle or shape, a straight lower edge is necessary) and the glass thickness is checked. The drilling process is automatic and optimised. The tools are changed on one side as a special highlight, while drilling or countersinking is still in progress on the opposite side. The glass is only fixed by clamping jaws at the time of drilling. It is possible to process coated glass.
Deep countersinking is performed quickly and safely because the torque is continuously monitored and adjusted in addition to the support provided by the clamping plates.
If the system is equipped with the optional waterjet cutting head, it is possible to make any type of cut-out with the machine, e.g. for shower or all-glass doors.
The topDRILL RX series is ideal for every modern glass processing company. Thanks to the different processing heights and the variable extension modules, the machine can be optimally adapted to the conditions and requirements on site.
The vertical design and very compact construction allows the G8 machines to be installed in confined spaces. The side maintenance access points ensure that the machine can be mounted directly against a wall.
Investment security is ensured thanks to the possibility of any-time expansion with additional modules or further processing devices.
The topDRILL RX series is the original when it comes to vertical drilling machines. The system has been optimised and has eight-fold drilling heads at the front and rear. The programmes and interfaces have also been updated and adapted to new conditions.
All topDRILL RX machines can be installed as stand-alone machines or in combination with other machines (e.g. a GLX) to form a machining line.
Thanks to the optionally available waterjet head, the machine can also produce individual edge and surface cut-outs.
